IGS joins Q&A audience

Earlier in the week a group of IGS Year 11 students and staff had the opportunity to be part of the ABC’s Q&A audience.

The episode focused on the War on Waste, with panelists including television host Craig Reucassel, Oz Harvest CEO Ronni Kahn, Local Government Association President David O’Loughlin, Waste Management Association President Gayle Sloan and People’s Panelist Jo Taranto.

IGS congratulates Kieran Do for his important question about keeping food waste on the agenda:

“France instituted a law in 2016 forbidding unsold supermarket food to be thrown away,” Kieran said. “Instead French supermarkets must donate their unsold food to charity or suffer a fine. Should the Australian government look into instituting a similar law?”
