IGS Indigenous students stand up to share their ideas

Two IGS Indigenous students shared their ideas for adding imagination to the Australian school curriculum at a recent Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) workshop at the University of Sydney.

“In front of hundreds of their peers, Coco proposed a school plan for sustainability and has been approached by the CEO to set up a plan for schools Australia wide with AIME’s support,” said IGS Academic Mentor – Indigenous Students and Stage 6 Aboriginal Studies Teacher Jade Carr.

“Miah also stood up and proposed compulsory Aboriginal Studies and learning more about Aboriginal culture. Her clear passion shone through.

“I feel very proud of them as did the rest of our Indigenous students.”
