IGS in the media

IGS students appeared on three national TV stations late last week.

A number of our students featured on ABC TV’s Royal Wedding coverage last Saturday evening, others on SBS News on Sunday evening in a feature about STEAM and textiles, and still others on National Indigenous TV on Friday.

For the Royal Wedding, a number of our students shared their views on Harry, the marriage itself and suitable wedding gifts.

The new IGS Design Centre formed the backdrop for staff and student interviews on textiles design and the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) subjects, on the SBS news item on Australian fashion designer Dr Mark Liu.

The NITV coverage focused on our inaugural Aboriginal Studies major works exhibition and the role Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians can play in stopping Aboriginal deaths in custody.

Congratulations to all of our students who took on the challenge of speaking out, broadening opinion on such a wide range of issues.
