IGS Head of Primary Music studies abroad

IGS Head of Primary Music Michele Ellis recently spent three glorious months studying at the Orff Institute in Salzburg, Austria, learning about the flexibility of Orff Schulwerk and its global adaptations.

These creative music and movement methods used at IGS can suit a range of contexts including music therapy; music classes for babies, children and adults; dance instruction; and music for those with special needs.

“It was a lifetime goal to study here,” Michele said.

“It was joyous being immersed in the creativity of the Schulwerk which I now realise is far richer and much more encompassing than I could have imagined. I can’t wait to share this magic with students.”
