Hinamatsuri, also know as Doll’s festival or Girl’s festival, is celebrated in Japan on 3 March.
“Students in Kindy Japanese learned how people in Japan celebrate this special day,” said Japanese Teacher Machiko Ohta.
“They were fascinated by the special colour dishes they eat for Hianamatsuri and commented that they want to eat them as well.
“Acknowledging this special day the students made their own Hinaningyo (dolls).
“They enjoyed folding origami paper and drew facial parts.”
