IGS is excited to announce that a selection of staff members will be travelling to High Tech High in San Diego in the US in May 2019 for the annual Deeper Learning Conference.

We congratulate the following members of staff:

  • Director of Early Learning Rebecca Jensen-Waud
  • Deputy Head of Junior School Josie Nardella
  • Primary Teacher Michelle Weir
  • Primary Teacher David Smith
  • Language Teacher Helene Schmit
  • Music Teacher Katie Salisbury
  • Director of ICT Graham Clarkson
  • Deputy Principal Students and Campus Life Mary Duma

“This is a fantastic team of teachers from Early Learning, Primary School and High School,” Principal Shauna Colnan said.

“This is a major, targeted professional development program abroad for 2019.

“We received so many high quality applications and it was tough to choose.”

In further staff professional development news, Director of Art and Design Craig Malyon has been selected as our inaugural Visiting Teacher to The British International School New York (BISNY).

“Craig will teach at the school and build a trans-continental art exhibition involving students from Sydney and New York, and forge a number of exciting projects,” Ms Colnan said.

“Craig’s time in New York will bring fantastic, expansive opportunities for our students, placing them in a global artmaking community.

“I wish Craig and Team IGS all the very best as they begin to prepare for their travels.”
