It is such a privilege to work with children and young people who value their opportunities and are generous in sharing their appreciation of the contributions of others.
In this week when all students returned to our campus, it was an added joy to receive a letter from Royal North Shore Hospital General Manager Alison Zecchin.
She wrote expressly to thank our students for “their thoughtful letters thanking our staff”.
In particular, she wrote: “The Executive Unit were delighted to receive these unexpected messages and were pleased to be able to take a moment and enjoy the letters during this time.
“We have used these kind messages to create a thank you wall in the main foyer of the hospital for staff and visitors to enjoy…
“Our staff and frontline clinicians have been working tirelessly each day to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. They are incredibly appreciative of the support that individuals in our
community have provided during this unprecedented period in our lives.
“This support has been a source of great comfort to our staff. Each message has had a positive impact on staff wellbeing and shows just how much the community cares for our doctors, nurses, allied health and support staff.
“Thank you again for thinking of us during this challenging time.”
As the world continues to battle the pandemic, it is gratifying to know that our students have made a difference for the better in the lives of health workers, whose skills and time and expertise are essential to so many people in need.
I could not be more proud of these students and of all our students who think of others and act with kindness. Thank you.
