Early Learning students celebrate the Japanese doll’s festival

During International Women’s Week last week early learning students celebrated Hinamatsuri, a Japanese cultural event also known as the dolls festival.

The festival is used as an occasion for young girls’ growth and happiness, with girls of most families displaying dolls called Hinamatsuri-ningyo.

Students in Preschool Gold donned their traditional Japanese clothing and enjoyed the event together with real Hina-Ningyo and a delicious fruit salad.

Japanese teacher Yasuyo Kawashima decorated tables with pretend sushi rolls and lollies to make the event more memorable for the children.

To wrap up a perfect day, students received a little gift box with stickers and a letter from the ELC team.
