Transition students step up

Kindergarten and Transition students worked together to strengthen their learning of languages recently.

Students practised words describing the weather and seasons and participated in a variety of activities together, as Transition students prepared to step up into Kindergarten.

“In Italian, the preschoolers enjoyed a weather dice game and weather tombola, while in Chinese, the children listened to stories, played Chinese musical chairs, and asked and answered questions using short phrases in pairs,” Machiko Sensei said.

“Children in Japanese class enjoyed playing the magic number game and Kahoot. In French class, the children enjoyed a puppet show, playing a spacious game moving around the classroom and singing a song.

“In German, the class traced words, drew raindrops and drew a snowman and a snowflake.”

To finish their lesson, students sang a weather song together.

“We hope Transition children enjoyed learning with the ‘big kids’ and feel ready for Kindy next year,” Machiko Sensei said.
