CDSSA achievements

IGS students recently travelled to Rowland Park in Daceyville to take part in the CDSSA Touch Football Trials.

“As the first sporting competition entered into by IGS since COVID-19 restrictions, our boys and girls certainly showed some outstanding skill levels and effort on the pitch in both the Under 15s and Opens age groups,” said PDHPE Teacher Veronica Whitaker.

“Notable mentions go to our Under 15 girls and boys, who won their competition and finished runners up respectively. The Under 15 girls’ team showed class in their final two games, keeping their opposition to zero points and our Under 15 boys showed an immense amount of improvement throughout the day and in all their games.

“All IGS students should be extremely proud of themselves in the way they represented the School. There will no doubt be many of our students pushing for selection at the next level in the Combined Districts Secondary Sports Association (CDSSA)
representative teams.”
