Book Cafe creates wonder and awe

"You are about to enter the very posh and very upmarket book cafe," IGS Acting Head of Library Karen said.

Karen and her team have worked tirelessly to create a unique and unforgettable experience for Primary School students in years 3 to 6.

As students arrived, they presented themselves politely to Karen, stating their full name, before being taken to their seats.

“There will be tasty treats, the other chef and I have been baking all morning for tables who do the right thing,” she said.

“The aim of today is to sample or to taste different books, not with your mouths but with your eyes.”

Students were given a book tasting menu, and once their first course arrived, they were asked to read a couple of pages of their book and fill in the information in their booklet.

“Bon Appetite, your first course is served,” Karen said.

After each course, students passed their book to the left and repeated the exercise.
