IGS Director of Music Alison said, “In this concert, we celebrate music-making with our young musicians and their families.”
“We invite parents, siblings, extended family and friends to sing, play and dance with our students throughout the concert. We encourage everyone to bring along their own musical instruments and music stands, and join with the students in the performances.”
Alison said even those who don’t play an instrument, are encouraged to sit with the ensembles and “experience the phenomenal power of music-making and the thrill of performing together.”
The concert will open with a song, led by the IGS combined choirs.
There will be performances from the Year 4 Training Band, Bay Street Band, and Kelly Street Band, Year 4 Beginner and Continuer String Ensemble, Sarasate Strings and Paganini Players.
The evening will conclude with a massed folk dance involving everyone!
The IGS Music department and the PTF are working together to support IGS music students. For this evening concert, we warmly welcome PTF volunteers who have Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
