Best efforts in Bebras Challenge

Students from Years 4 to 6 tested their computational thinking skills in the recent 2019 Bebras Challenge.

“The discussion generated by trying to solve each problem was inspirational to witness as an educator,” Primary Digital Innovator and Teacher David Smith said.

Year 4 students enjoying the challenging tasks

This marked the third occasion that Stage 2 and 3 IGS students have taken part in the Challenge.

“The students worked extremely well in small groups to complete the set tasks, and they all expressed how much fun they had in completing the Challenge,” Mr Smith said.

Bebras Australia is run by CSIRO Education and Outreach through the Digital Careers program. The goal is to promote computational thinking to students in a way that highlights student ability beyond Science or Maths skills.

Deep concentration in the Bebras Challenge

In 2018, a number of Junior School students received High Distinction certificates, and we hope to continue with great results this year.
