Beautiful Work: Italian in Kindergarten

Kindergarten students of Italian are learning about Italian vowel sounds through a variety of activities.

Students having been using music and dance to show their understanding of the vowel sounds.

“The class had a quick ‘brain break’ dance about vowels to help regain focus and release some energy,” Assistant Head of Junior School Languages Annamaria Ferragina said.

“The children listened to blended Italian sounds, and they wrote the letters for each sound on mini whiteboards. For each positive attempt, the students received a point which they tallied up on their boards.

“To reinforce these listening and reading skills, the children also participated in a running dictation and a 3D letter moulding activity.”
