Batyr Program builds awareness and understanding

IGS High School students have been building on their wellbeing awareness and skills.

The program aims to remove the stigma around mental health, and focuses on building awareness and understanding of mental health issues.

Year 9 students took part in a Batyr Introductory Program and Year 10 students attended the Look Out For Your Mates Program.

Trained facilitators educate students on the support networks and services available to them, and empowers students to reach out for help when needed.

Students also learned how they can take care of themselves using Batyr’s five tips: look out, get talking, listen up, reach out and take charge.
