All rise for kindness

At recent High School assemblies when IGS Principal Shauna Colnan discussed the vital importance of quality of character and quality of work, she invited students to stand up if they would be a part of a force for good and kindness in the world.

IGS Deputy Principal Students and Campus Life Mary Duma said it was a powerful moment when all students in the year group stood to demonstrate their support for kindness.

The assembly included a video by US educator Ron Berger about students in Maine who marched in solidarity against a racial hate crime against one of their classmates.

IGS students’ support for the IGS motto of Unity through Diversity was also evident when celebrating the School’s recent 37th birthday, when they reflected on what they valued about the School, sharing their thoughts post-it notes.
