Accolades for student actor

Year 11 IGS student Grace Truman has wowed critics and audiences with her moving performances in Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, playing at Belvoir Street Theatre until 8 March.

Grace was nominated for the ‘Best Newcomer’ award when she first performed the role at the Riverside Theatre in Parramatta in 2018.

The play, based on a novella by Peter Goldsworthy, examines grief as the friends and family of Emma, played by Grace, come to grips with her diagnosis of leukaemia.

Her moving performances draw on her own experiences of grief, having lost her father at the age of 10.

Among other achievements, Grace has gone on to create the amazing Grace video series, which was profiled in a recent Inner West Courier article.

Grace is also an ambassador for the Fly High Billie Charity, promoting kindness in the wake of the tragic loss of Billie Kinder at the age of 12.

We warmly congratulate Grace on her latest achievement.
