A window of opportunity

Students in Transition have been considering the uniqueness and differences of homes, a topic that has arisen whilst exploring “cities through windows".

Through eager and open discussions about their own homes, this topic has encouraged the children to consider that all families and people come from different walks of life and can live in very different places.

To start, the class read Rene Escudie’s Paul and Sebastian, a book about two boys who live in very different houses, originally set in France.

As a visual representation of the project, the group created a “class street”, where each student crafted their own unique home. The artworks were then lined up alongside one another.
