A summer of art

"As the school year comes to a close, some of our Year 12 artists are looking forward to a creative adventure over the summer holidays," said IGS Director of Art and Design Drew Bickford.

Extending upon their artmaking learning experiences at IGS, Jed Payten, Tiger Balsmeyer, Myles Lambert and Wynton Lambert will be participating in The National Art School (NAS) HSC Intensive Program this Summer.

“NAS is an independent tertiary visual arts institution, that offers high school students this fantastic enrichment opportunity to work with practising artists in a studio environment,” Drew said.

IGS student Saskia Vander will be engaging in a very exciting workshop with acclaimed Australian ceramicist Juz Kitson over the holidays.

“This will be a fascinating and creative exploration into the world of ceramics, assisting Saskia in the development of her own HSC artwork in 2021,” he said.

The Art and Design department wishes all students a creative, productive and restful end of year break.
