2021 Global Scholar’s Prize opens

It its eighth year of challenging students on an issue of global significance, the Principal's Global Scholar's Prize will focus on COVID-19 in 2021.

Students will write a prize-winning essay on COVID-19 in 2021.

Topics in previous years have included Brexit, Climate Change, the Me Too Movement and the Rise of Donald Trump.

“There is so much to investigate, explore and write about as the pandemic stretches into its second year,” IGS Principal Shauna Colnan said.

“We’ve learned so much about ourselves and the world over the past 18 months and there are many different angles you can take. I’m interested to read your views and your insights.”

If you would like to enter this annual competition by writing a 1,000 word essay, please view this booklet.

The essay is due on 25 October and is open to all IGS High School students. The prize is awarded at Speech Night with a trophy and the winner’s name is inscribed on the Perpetual Global Scholar’s Trophy.
