Immersion Language Program

Bilingual education enriches every child's life, has significant cognitive benefits, and promotes a natural acceptance of difference. Bilingual partial immersion in the second language continues from preschool to Year 6, and then through to Year 10, and can be taken as an elective for the HSC.

Students' skills develop by hearing and using the second language in songs, games and craft, integrated with selected units of core curriculum subjects in the language. At annual Language Camps Years 4 to 6 are immersed in craft, cooking, sport and drama language activities.

Languages taught from Kindergarten are currently French, German, Italian and Japanese.

Time allocation for language classes is 40 minutes daily in Kindergarten and 80 minutes daily in Years 1-6.
