Students dive into swimming carnival

The first IGS House sporting competition for 2018 proved to be a record-breaking day at Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre.

The energy, involvement and participation at the High School swimming carnival was outstanding, and particularly exciting for Year 12 students, as it was their final IGS swimming carnival.

The level of talent displayed by Robert Kanaley of Year 9, Alessandra Mullard of Year 9 and Luca Welfare of Year 11 deserves a particular mention. These students were named “athletes of the meet” recipients, on 70 points, the highest level possible.

Other highlights included new records, broken by Luca Welfare (six records), Robert Kanaley (five records), Molly McGrath of Year 12 (four records), Sofia Clifton of Year 8 (two records) and Eoghan Kilbridge (one record) of Year 12.
