Global learning experiences

Exchange students visiting IGS from France and Italy over the next few weeks were invited to a morning session of Year 8 Science.

“As part of our animal systems topic, we investigated the internal and external structures of heart, lung and liver from a sheep, for a practical demonstration,” said Science teacher Brenda Ring.

“Students were given the choice to observe only, touch or dissect.” Many of them were actively involved.

“It was a lot of fun and we thank Lab Technician Mr Claude Monger for all his support and hard work which allowed us to have a great experience in Week 8.”

Such practical experiments are an unusual experience for European students, according to Director of Languages Rosalba Genua-Petrovic who organises the exchanges.
