Cricket stars at IGS

The NSW Cricket Academy has acknowledged Year 8 student Eva Ragg for her outstanding talents, and our IGS cricket teams competed well at a gala day.

Eva recently played for the NSW Cricket Academy and captained her Canterbury West’s girls Under 13’s Representative team.

At a recent awards ceremony, Eva won eight trophies including Best Female NSW Representative Player for her age, Best Bowler and Batter in her Canterbury West team, plus two “hall of fame” awards for Outstanding Performance.

Then, at the NSW Districts Cricket Association (DCA) awards at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Eva won Best Cricketer for the entire girls Under 13’s statewide competition, plus additional batting and bowling awards. Well done, Eva!

In further cricket news, 18 IGS students competed in a gala day at Rowland Park earlier in the week against schools within the All Suburbs Independent School Sport Association (ASISSA).

Congratulations to the boys’ team who placed 2nd with a final score of 51 to 50, and the girls’ team who placed 3rd with final score of 89 to 31.

The day was full of outstanding teamwork, hits for 6, plus plenty of impressive catches.
