Chichi no hi

Chichi no hi (Father’s Day) is celebrated next week in Japan.

To celebrate in the IGS Kindergarten Japanese classroom, students made special cards to say thank you their “otosan” (fathers), father figures and loved ones.

“The students made a love heart with origami paper and wrote a message by tracing Hiragana letters which they have begun to learn,” said Japanese Educator Machiko Ohta.

“They also carefully copied their name independently.”

The students have been enjoying using their skills to celebrate various Japanese events and customs.
